Cellular & Honeycomb Shades

Cellular shades are best known for their energy-saving properties but also offer a wide array of customizable options. Cellular shades get their name and insulating power from their honeycomb shape that traps air between the window and the room, buffering against heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Double cell shades offer maximum insulation. Light filtering or blackout fabrics provide privacy and light control choices in a wide array of colors, textures and even patterns. Customize your honeycomb shade with convenient lift options including cordless, top down-bottom up , and motorized remote control.

Cellular Shades FAQ

Cellular shades are a unique style of window treatment used to block or filter light and add insulation to windows to help save energy and reduce costs. Each cell is constructed with honeycomb-shaped pockets built to trap air at your window. Choose between a single or double cell variation, depending on how much insulation you’d like to add. These unique shades are also highly customizable, available with multiple lift options, colors, and light-blocking materials.

Honeycomb blinds and cellular shades are two names for the exact same product. The honeycomb name is just a reference to the shape of the individual air-pockets in each cell. Call them whatever you want, they’ll still add insulation and style to your windows.

Blindsgalore cellular shades are among our most economical style of window treatments. Plus, think of how much you’ll save on your energy bill! As with all of our products, final price depends on the size of your shade and the features you’ve decided to include.

"Very effective.."

By Oighrig from Noca Scotia

We bought 2 of these and noticed a dramatic difference in the room temperature in summer when they are closed, at least 5 degrees. They also keep winter heat in when its very cold outside. We are very happy with the blinds but installation was not easy, mostly because its awkward to work inside the dropped ceiling box created by the skylight. Choose a cool cloudy day.

"Very Happy with Skylight Blackout Cellular Shades in Bedrooms"

By Mcmaclaw from Ontario

Ordered two black-out cellular shades for two bedrooms for horizontal installations to deal with very bright early morning light through vertical skylights. No issues with ordering or cross-border shipping. Precise measuring and careful installation of the blinds and rails is necessary, but this is not surprising given their purpose (keeping out light) and horizontal operation. Fit perfectly and working smoothly after two months of use. Not only to do they keep the rooms very dark, they have the bonus of reducing sound transmission down the skylight well and into the rooms. Absolutely great product at a great price. Highly recommended. Thanks!
